80 / 20 BEFORE & AFTER

The 80 / 20 rule is something I felt into quite naturally but 100% received the benefits. I used to live a fairly toxic lifestyle being a DJ mainly with alcohol and I was overweight for a lot of my 20’s. After my gut issues and finding out I was allergic to wheat and dairy and knowing I had to stop drinking and cut out sugar, within weeks I started to lose weight. I have always been a good cook so that really helped me rework my approach to my diet. My diet was ok but eating and drinking things I was allergic too was why I was overweight. So I went on a huge journey to heal and educate myself with food and nutrition, so I could help myself. Being a good cook helped me find very tasty solutions to really nutritious meals that do not contain the allergens that were making me ill and overweight. 

I loved beer and still miss it, but it's like drinking a loaf of bread with tons of sugar hahah plus alcohol was having a huge affect on my mental health! Over the past 5 years I have not done a huge amount of fitness, but always done some. My diet is what healed me and kept me fit and healthy and at a healthy weight. I recently came across the 80 / 20 principle and realised I had been doing it without knowing and it really shows how important diet is. 80 / 20 means 80% diet 20% movement.
